THE FUNCTIONING OF THE HUMAN BRAIN (INSIDE OUT)

Image result for INSIDE OUT

This movie depicts a wonderful concept of the working of the mind. It begins a 11 year old girl who experiences daily life and how her mind functions in different situations. She has just recently shifted rom her home in Minnesota to San Francisco, where her dad’s job has taken him. All these things happen against her will.
The girl’s moods are regulated by a coalition of five characters who function from a control room behind her eyes. The leader of this group  is Joy. She is true to her name; she is effervescent and always on the move. Externally her skin glows depicting her liveliness and vigour. Her companions are Anger, a fiery red –lady finger shaped figure; Disgust, a green Amazonian filled with virulent hatred; Fear, a nervous type character who dresses like a librarian, and Sadness, a moping, pessimist young woman with pale blue skin and a very chunky.

The most vital thing that they are in charge of is her memories, which are kept in small marbles at the rear side of her mind. At times when Sadness silently manages to touch them, they turn blue. Somehow or the other, when the others are paying attention elsewhere, Sadness wanders out into the rear of Riley’s head and unattentively starts fingering the marbles, thereby spoiling the girls mood.

With the absence of joy from the headquarters; matters keep moving on from bad to worse. Joy and Sadness try their best to reach the headquarters before the islands collapse but unfortunately are unable to do so. Finally after a great loss of islands they manage to reach the headquarters, Joy tells sadness to take over and she manages to bring the situation under control.

What is interesting here to notice is the role emotions play in the normal functioning of us all. Joy and Sorrow are emotions which are equally important.

BEAUTY UNLEASHED (KHOOBSURAT)

Image result for KHOOBSURATKHOOBSURAT depicts very well the power of love and laughter, joy and happiness, which can bring healing to an ailing person, bring family members together and most of all, assist a person in realizing ones true love. The film begins with the introduction of a professional physiotherapist Mili Chakravarthy is depicted as a person who is very spontaneous. She is the one who is in charge of treating the players of the IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders. She chips in for her friend who is unable to go to the royal palace to treat the King. From the time she enters the palace there is utter chaos because of her city lifestyle.

One scene that stands out is that of Milli's first dinner at the palace, where she shows up late, follows no etiquettes, enquires about the young princess' relationship status and eventually her phone buzzes with the ringtone 'Maa Ka Phone Aaya'. The Queen’s life revolves around her family, besides taking care of all the business and maintenance of the royal legacy. Mili turns the house upside down in the course of the treatment of the King. Slowly Mili realizes in due course of the treatment that, it is not the body of the king that is paralyzed but the mind of the King.

She diverts her energies to changing the mindset of the King for the better. In the meantime the King’s son and Mili get attracted to each other and the rest of the story follows. The admiring facts of this story are the way in which humans fall in love with each other. It is also wonderful to see how a mother supports her daughter in spite of all odds. Milis mother is like a friend unto her; she speaks her heart out to her and takes in her wisdom filled suggestions.

THE ILL EFFECTS OF REVENGE (EK VILLAIN)

Image result for EK VILLAINThe movie ‘Ek Villain’ is inspired by the South Korean revenge film: I Saw the Devil. However the action is brought down to a great level so as to suit the Indian screens. It's an interesting story of a serial killer who chooses the wrong man's fiancee to murder. The bad guy with a good heart Guru works for a local gangster in Goa. His life takes a sweet turn as he meets the outspoken Aisha who wants to live her life to the fullest and has a witty joke for every moment in life. Aisha's life is centered on doing things for others (other centered) and interestingly for one of her many cases she wants to take Guru's help.

However he doesn't seem to be interested; but she for some reason is damn sure that he will fall in line and predictably, he does. After some time, Guru and Aisha are married. The story gets a turn when a serial killer Rakesh on the loose kills Aisha. He is one of the many rude characters which are brought out in this movie. Right from the doctors to the ticket collectors, all of them for some reason or the other are rude and arrogant.

Image result for EK VILLAINNow it becomes clear and sure that Guru will take his revenge on Rakesh come what may, to such an extent that even the best security officers from the CBI are concerned and worried, not because there is a serial killer on the move but because they fear Guru's revenge which can be quite disastrous. Irritated and fuming with anger, Guru manages to find Rakesh; however he decides not take his life and instead to search him out and torture him every day.

The most useless lot in this film are the cops. They intentionally fail to catch the serial killer and to add to this at one point when they have information about him they shamelessly pass it on to Guru so that he can seek revenge.

HUMAN ACCEPTANCE (ACCEPTED)

Image result for ACCEPTED (Movie review)

Image result for ACCEPTEDTruly I tell you, if the message of this movie is put into practice there will be a change for the better in the world. As the title of the movie goes ‘Accepted’, I totally agree that this is THE thing that we look for when we are in a society along with the feeling of being great or a person who is important. This movie begins with a good family scene and slowly goes on to show how the son is rejected admission by all the colleges in the vicinity. He tells his parents of many other options which would not only save their money but also add to the income of the family because he would                                                            be working.

His parents reject this idea and tell him that it is the custom in the society that all should go to college. He is tensed, he gets the help of his friend to make a fake college website and get a temporary college residence. In the meantime many get accepted in this college and he is confused with the situation and doesn’t know what to do. He tells the students the whole truth. He accepts them in his so called college. He gives them the freedom to make their own syllabus and learn by allowing their creativity to take charge of themselves. The original college by which this college was named after sues him and takes him to court.

In the court there is an exchange of words or a kind of a debate where both the parties discuss about the true meaning of education. Many accusations were made against this young boy. He was not the least concerned about all that. He said that they didn’t need the approval of the court because it wasn’t that which made them so creative.

Finally the court gave in to their cast giving them a trial of 1 year to see how they are faring. According to me this system of education was approved because the court saw that they were not only learning basics but also becoming creative in the bargain. Creativity today is a rare artifact, we are used to doing things like robots that are ordered or programmed. We still have hope because we have the greatest power of self- confidence to bring to light what our creative mind imagines. Let go of your old routine habits and get out into the open to allow yourself to be creative.

THE GODS MUST BE CRAZY 2 (MOVIE)

Image result for THE GODS MUST BE CRAZY 2 (MOVIE REVIEW)A wonderful combination of joy and sorrow, humour and seriousness and the like are seen in this movie. It begins with a scene where two of the bushman’s children trace the prints of a tyre not knowing what it really is. They follow the prints of the tyre and find a truck connected with a water tank. Both of them climb the water tank and suddenly the truck begins moving ahead.

The truck was quite fast and hence the father couldn’t manage to stop the truck. The movie changes the scene, here the male and the female come on stage. Both of them get stuck in the bush due to the airplane being stuck on the tree and due to technical problems. Its amazing to see how this airplane which looks more like a small helicopter is able to fly such distances.

All in all, the truck on which the two kids climbed had tusks of elephants. In the end the two drivers of the truck are caught by the local soldier. The things to be admired in this movie are the knowledge of the bushman with regard to the forest, the ability to be daring and adventurous as shown by the woman scientist, the thriftiness of the male scientist and so on.

This movie ends on a very happy note where the father is united with his so called two lost children. Tears roll down their cheeks as they tightly embrace each other. This is also seen in modern day families who are united after many years of separation either due to war, captivity, and bonded labour, etc or due t study, work, and appointments and so on. Family plays a vital role in the growth of all human beings.
